haiku
end of January
hidden plans
in roots and branches
(AW, Jan 2026)
winter dinner
rice white as snow
soy sauce to the pak choi
poem
the snow is gone
this city is ugly again
a poster tells
you can rent containers
a phone number is provided
and one wonders
what people put in there
winter's narrow gap
between twilight
and darkness
winter twilight
the pizza delivery man
quick back to his car
this wintry world
is reeling and people are
clinging to tea cups
wintry day
turning on the news
muting the sound
hoarfrost returned
the red glass
of the tail lights
an unexpected
winter sun
unexpected indeed
mid-January
no tv news
becoming a Neanderthal
these bare winter trees
to ground oneself
in some way
now this winter is
mild again
the complaints go on
in this real winter
a morning coffee
and dystopian news
no black ice here
now my ego pretends
to be brave
severe frost
these blue tits are doing
everything right
cold air
the magpie's calls
like cuts
snow flurry
fluffy jasmine rice
for dinner
in this wintry city
these brave people
and their cuppas

salt was spread
the dog owner's
complaint
he is carrying
oranges in a net
big oranges
six suns on this winter day
