poem

the rain

after the drought

will people know

that this very rain

saved them

and will people

trust these trees

that they will do

their thing

with this rain

poem

small waffles

in a plastic container

later for a plastic frog

a bit of water

for splashing around

we'll watch him

it's summer

after all

(AW, July 2026)

poem

the time of the year

for vine-ripened tomatoes

cucumbers and melons

women leave hair salons

and the high bills give them

a feeling of confidence

they'll cut the tomatoes

with their sharp knives

they'll find words

if someone wants

to argue with them

(AW, July 2026)

haiku

the intense heat

now 4 days ago

still tired from it

(AW, July 2026)
